At 54 years old, I have lived long enough to test many of the promises found in the Bible. The Lord promises to bless your storehouse, your children, and all that
you set your hand to do, if you will simply be obedient. (see Deuteronomy 28). One of the most amazing promises is found in Psalm 37:4, which states, “Delight
yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desire of your heart.”
But the most amazing promise is found at John 3:16:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Immortality is a free gift. You cannot earn it, no matter how good you are. For it is written, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. The good news (The Gospel) is the price has been paid by Jesus. We all deserve to be crucified for our sins, myself included. Praise God it promised:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
I know that my days will never end. It is written, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8. In Romans 10:9 it states clearly, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved.”
If you do not know if you are saved, you can pray this prayer and know for sure: “Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I confess that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, so I can have eternal life. I believe that he was crucified and on the 3rd day, was resurrected. I believe that He purchased eternal life for me with His own blood. I am inviting Him into my heart Father. In Jesus name, amen.”
